Duty of Disclosure
We will ask for and seek all relevant information from you in order to help you find an appropriate policy. You must supply us with the requested information as failure to do so, or to provide incorrect information, may lead to you buying an inadequate product, or worse, the insurer may not pay a claim. We require all material facts to be disclosed, which can be described as any fact which may be likely to influence an insurers decision to accept a risk and on what terms. If you have any doubt as to whether a fact is material, please ask us in order that we may advise you accordingly.
If any information supplied changes during the course of a policy period, you must notify us immediately, as this may influence the cover and policy terms and conditions. You should keep a record, including copies of letters, of all information supplied for the purpose of your insurance policy.
Our Services
Our permitted business is arranging general insurance contracts. We deal with a wide range of insurance providers, a list of which is available on request. Because of our wide range of providers, we are able to discuss your needs and establish a product best suited to you.
We are entitled to a fair payment for the work that we do. The Association of British Insurers code gives you the right to know the insurance providers standard commission rate. Our current charges are as follows:
| Arrange renewal |
£10.00 |
| Arrange access to legal services at renewal |
£25.00 for taxi insurance, £15.00 all other motor policies |
| Mid term adjustment or cancellation |
£10.00 (minimum) |
| Duplicate certificates/covernotes |
Insurers charge only |
| Dishonoured payment fee |
£10.00 |
Please note that these charges are in addition to any charges made by the insurers themselves. In certain circumstances, we may have to apply additional charges to reflect the work involved.
When you elect to pay your premium by instalments, payments additional to the insurers premium will be required to cover the cost of our credit advance. Full details of any additional charges will be explained clearly before the commencement of any contract.
Policy Cancellation
If you cancel your policy before its normal expiry date, you will be liable to pay a premium based on the insurers short period rates. The typical short period rates are as follows:
| 1 month |
30% |
| 2 months |
40% |
| 3 months |
50% |
| 4 months |
60% |
| 5 months |
70% |
| 6 months |
80% |
| 7 months |
90% |
| 8 or more months |
100% |
You have certain rights of cancellation in the early stage of a policy life, and these are shown in the insurers policy details document which we will provide. You must send us your certificate of insurance, or a lost certificate declaration, before we can cancel your policy.
Cancelling your Direct Debit mandate does not cancel your policy. Should you not pay in full for your time on cover, a debt recovery agent will be used to collect any money owing, and any cost incurred through this course of action will be added to the debt.
If a claim is made during the insurance year, then the full annual premium will become payable.
